AI Check sits on your Pixel home screen. Tap it while a song is playing in YouTube Music. It reads the official now-playing title and artist (the same metadata on your lock screen), asks Grok, and shows a single score.
- Does not record audio — Android will not let a third-party app hear YouTube Music
- Needs notification access so Android will share what’s playing
- Needs your own xAI API key from console.x.ai
- Optional Quick Settings tile for the same action from the shade
Sideload: Android will ask you to allow installs from the browser or Files app. That is expected. This is not on the Play Store.
Install
- Download AICheck.apk on the phone
- Open the file → Install
- Play a song in YouTube Music
- Open AI Check → grant notification access → paste an xAI API key
Privacy
The track title and artist go to the xAI API so Grok can look the recording up. The app does not upload audio. The API key stays in encrypted storage on the phone.
